Welcome to a new world with Skull-iQ voice control in Grind, Grind Fuel, and Push Active earbuds. To use voice control commands with these earbuds, connect your product to your phone and to the Skullcandy App, then turn Voice Control ON.
For Android device users, you can close the app and continue to experience voice control and commands. For iOS device owners, keep the Skullcandy App running to issue voice commands (in either the foreground or in a backgrounded state). For best results, close apps that you are not using.
- Issue Voice commands in English
- Voice commands are best picked up while both buds are in your ears
- For best results on iPhones, keep the Skullcandy App open, and force close other apps not currently in use
- Note that high winds or loud surrounding noise may impede the microphone from hearing your voice commands
WHY ISN’T SPOTIFY TAP™ WORKING?
Make sure you have Spotify downloaded on your phone, you’re signed into an active Spotify account, and you have the Spotify App running in the background. You can then start Spotify with the custom button setting you’ve set or with Voice Controls, simply by saying “Hey Skullcandy, Spotify”.
If you are still having trouble using Spotify with button presses or voice commands, perform a Spotify app update from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.
HOW DO I SET CUSTOM BUTTON ACTIONS? AND HOW DO I CHANGE BUTTON CONTROLS ON MY EARBUDS?
On Grind, Grind Fuel, and Push Active earbuds, you can customize the button press controls of your earbuds through the Skullcandy App.
- To use the Custom Button Settings feature, link your product to the Skullcandy App and open the Button Settings widget. Then select the button setting you’d like to modify from default.
- Simply decide what shortcut button presses you want to modify and use the pencil icon on the right of the screen to edit what function each press sequence will control. Choose from the many options in the dropdown and be sure to touch the circle for a checkmark to appear filled in the dot before you close the selection panel. Exit the selection menu to store the setting back to your earbuds.
CAN I REVERT MY EARBUDS BACK TO DEFAULT BUTTON SETTINGS?
To reset your Grind, Grind Fuel, or Push Active earbud controls back to the default settings, open the Button Settings widget, scroll to the bottom, and select “Restore to default settings”. Your button actions will now be reset to default settings.
I SET A BUTTON ACTION TO TAKE PHOTO, BUT MY PHONE ISN’T TAKING PICTURES
Just like any photo taken on your phone, first, open your phone’s camera app, then be sure your earbuds are powered on and paired with your phone. Then use the button press you set for Take Photo, to control your camera and capture a picture!
HELP ME USE THE SHARE AUDIO FEATURE.
When two parties have Grind, Grind Fuel, or Push Active earbuds, they can stream the same audio across both sets of earbuds.
- The Share Audio widget provides instructions and information about how to Share Audio with a friend, this does not actually start a sharing session or join a sharing session. Follow the button press instructions to Share Audio or join a sharing session.
